Video analytic software has come a long way the past few years, especially IBM’s Smart Video Surveillance Suite which has jumped into the forefront of capabilities. I recently put together a conceptual design that includes using SVS for retail marketing, specifically determining dwell times at select counters to evaluate display effectiveness. Intregating that analytical data with the Point-of-Purchase (POP) system and new RFID inventory management technology can streamline the process of retail. Hey, maybe retail isn’t dead!
